She found a recipe at <a href=\"http:\/\/mausersandmuffins.blogspot.com\/2005\/02\/bacon-carmalized-bacon-buttermilk.html\">Home on the Range<\/a> that looked good.  Janet and Jacob worked on the bacon and the batter and then Jacob did the cooking.  My photo does not do justice to the flavor.  They were great, especially with the real maple syrup.
